Folks we have been slammed at the shop for the last 2 months! And while that’s been good for business, it’s put us a little behind in finishing up the schedule and sponsor list for the 2012 season. We are working diligently to get everything squared away and should have everything ready for release in the next few weeks. Thank you in advance for your patience!!

It was a beautiful day in the Northeast corner of Maryland for the NA Shootout’s season opening event at Cecil County
Dragway. The original season opener, scheduled at Maple Grove Raceway in Pennsylvania, was cancelled due to inclement weather, but a great bunch of racers brought out their best for this NA Clash. The 10.5 and Drag Radial heads up classes were contested as well as the All Motor Index (AMI) class.
The track surface was a little tricky on this day and that made it somewhat challenging for the competitors. The cars in G-Force 10.5 are making around 1,000 horsepower with many cars weighing in at over 3,000 pounds. That, combined with the small true 10.5 slick make tuning these cars to get down any track almost an art form. The same goes for the high powered Goodyear 275 Drag Radial class, where these guys are trying to put it down on an even smaller street radial tire.

In Goodyear Drag Radial it was Bill Perkins taking the top qualifying spot with a 9.103. Perkins’ Ford advanced to the final to face Neil Owens’ Pontiac. Owens took an .082 reaction time advantage at the start and ran a 9.344 but it was not enough to hold back Perkins 9.165.
In Liberty Gears Pro N/A it was Merv Moyer’s Mustang taking the top qualifying spot and the win over Richard Scioscia’s Cuda. 7.497 to a 7.836. In the very popular Holeshot Wheels All Motor Index class Paul Mileski was the top qualifier running 11.002 on his 11.00 Index.
The final came down to Jeff Hughes and Bruce Wilson in a close race. Hughes .021 light and 9.555 on his 9.50 Index was enough to squeak by Wilson’s .047 light and 10.541 on his 10.50 Index.
